Wishing you all a happy 2012!

December 31, 2011 in News

2011 has been an exciting year in many ways. I’ve been involved in a few interesting projects, met interesting new people and took on a few very interesting new jobs. Regretfully, 2011 was not a very prosperous year income-wise, but i survived…

I had to procrastinate and shift time from my beloved feature film project “Littekens” to more profitable activity – read: paid work! I was really hoping to get that feature on my planning in 2011 and finish the script (as a start), alas…  the script is still not finished and i heartily hope this will be the case before Q1 2012. It’d be a real shame to put that project on hold, because i won a script competition (organized by the Dutch Film Festival) with it’s synopsis earlier this year! You can follow it’s progress on facebook.com/littekens or twitter.com/littekensfilm .

I was “forced” to make a new investment in camera equipment, for several reasons. First, because i need a cinema camera to complete the Littekens project, second because i need to limit my tax assessment, third because I’ve had enough of DSLR and video cameras that shoot RGB. I want to be able to shoot raw (or Redcode). I’ve made the decision on nov. 7th to order the Red Scarlet-X package. I could have bought a car instead, but cars don’t have a Canon AI mount… (yet).

I know that this website is not very exciting yet, but after it has been hacked at the beginning of this month, i have been trying to put the pieces together again from old backups and the incredible Google Cache. I hope to deliver some good content in the coming few months.

I wish you all a very prosperous and happy 2012, may all your dreams come true…

Martin.

Waiting for the new Red Scarlet camera…

Martin Beek's Red Scarlet Camera

Update: our Scarlet-X has been allocated! Hopefully, it will arrive first week of march 2012.

Being number 2916 on the list, the wait for my ordered Red Scarlet camera is probably going to be a long one…
